A. C. Abeywardana, Electroteks was incorporated in 1983. Its early work included local-loop multiplexing and signalling conversion equipment. The original company history reports more than 15,000 units installed around Sri Lanka by 1997.<\/p>\n<p>In 1986 the company began designing and manufacturing TDM telex multiplexers. It went on to win a contract to supply Sri Lanka Telecom\u2019s telex multiplex systems in an international tender. Related equipment was supplied to the Bangladesh Telephone &#038; Telegraph Board.<\/p>\n<p>Electroteks also helped pioneer radio-data-link banking automation. A 1988 pilot linked three Sampath Bank branches, followed by work that supported ATM and teller-terminal networks.
